Detsafe

Detonators are an essential tool for many military, civil and humanitarian applications. They are however very sensitive items and so great restrictions are placed on their condition of storage and transportation. The Detsafe blast containment range is fully compliant with UN Hazard Classification of 1.4S so they can be transported with other explosives and stored to capacity in explosive magazines. Detsafe 5S

The Detsafe 5S is designed to provide safe handling of detonators. Should a detonator initiate by accident in one of the internally moulded chambers, there will be no consequential initiation of detonators in the neighbouring chambers nor any effects outside of the Detsafe itself.

Detsafe 8M

Similar in size to a standard NATO H83 .50 cal ammunition box, the Detsafe 8M has all the same key features of it smaller cousin the 5S but benefits from 8 moulded chambers. Our most popular unit is used mainly for military electric detonators.

Detsafe 18M

The 18M is designed to take a single detonator in each chamber. Based on the H83 .50 Cal ammunition box, the 18M was the first Detsafe to receive a UN 1.4S classification. As part of the Detsafe family the 18M benefits from all of the key features of its smaller blast containment cousins but contains 18 moulded chambers.

Detsafe 8L

This is an extended version of the Detsafe 8M, this unit is ideal for electric detonators with long connecting wires. They can be inserted into the eight chambers without additional folding of the coiled command wires. It has 8 internal moulded chambers that can take a full load of 24 detonators.

Detsafe EMOE

Designated for the detonator kits commonly used for ‘Explosive Methods of Entry’ this was developed at the request of the UK national programme. This is the certified unit used throughout the Police Forces of the United Kingdom in support of their EMOE activities. The Detsafe EMOE unit is approved by the UK 'Competent Authorities' as designed by the United Nations.

Detsafe FR

Designed for the Forensic Recovery of detonators/ blasting caps from crime scene, the Detsafe FRs development was initiated at the request of a foreign government agency. Detonators when used for criminal or terrorist activity are invaluable forensic evidence, but their volatility often means they are destroyed at the scene on safety grounds. The Detsafe FR provides the means to safely remove both commercial and improvised detonators to a suitable location for further examination. The Detsafe FR is designed to move a single detonator in a clean smooth chamber with room for the bagged detonator and additional padding.
